Ainee Ke Aayay Ge Baraat (Episode 3 review)
Written By Kiran Akhtar:
Once again Bushra Ansari stole the show. The lady is simply one of a kind, they just don’t make actresses like that anymore. One day she is cracking the viewers up with her outclass performance in the role of Saima Choudhary and the very next day she makes it so easy for us to hate Bilqees Kaur.
The sole reason behind the success of ”The Baraat series” is Saima Choudhary and Saima Choudhary alone. One can see for onesself the dedication with which Bushra Ansari comes on our screens again and again as Saima but we never get tired of watching her. Her pony tail with a mammoth of a flower adorned in it, her accent, her contageous laughter, her energy and most of all her determination to learn English language all work together to make her a sweetheart. Her jokes are hilarious ” aap to aurtoon ki Shah Mahmood Qureshi lug rahe hain” , “Mainnay Karachi main bhe frenchfries kholle hai”, “Ro Ro k aakhaan chucheyyan ho gaiyyan nay”, “Test match made in Heaven” are simply superb.
My favorite part is that you can sit and watch this drama with your entire family, unlike the other sitcoms on TV these days that mostly make use of double meaning language and that at times even takes the shape of adult comedy.
This drama is not just focussed on comedy for the sake of it, you also get to watch a story with characters that are totally relatable. Arfa has a 24 year old daughter who she wants to marry off but her daughter like most of the young people today wants to pursue a career. Sila is the perfect example of a young girl who got a degree and shortly afterwards got married and had a baby; now she feels like she is missing out on a lot of things; one of them is having a career. On the other hand Azaar is a young dad who has recently lost his job and has his own set of insecurities about his wife’s desire to work.
The writer has also successfully managed to keep the side tracks interesing and progressing, instead of keeping the entire focus on one character. The story of Sukaina and Mushtaq is so sweet. The groom shortly after getting married is appearing in his graduatin exams to make his bride happy, how sweet is that , if this is not true love then I don’t know what is. Bhangge shahab is awaiting the fate of his true love, since he finally gathered up enough courage to propose to Nani in the 2nd episode. And we will simply have to wait and see if Saima Choudhary’s wish of having grandchildren with Canadian Passports will finally come true or will she have to continue her search for her dream bahoo, only time will tell.
So far the dialogues are interesting, the scenes are kept crisp and to the point, the story is progressing at a decent pace, the plot has been knit very well and all the actors are doing a great job. Kudos to the cast and crew, eagerly waiting for the next episode.
