The popular host of Geo TV’s morning show “Utho Jago Pakistan” Dr Shaista has said Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain has won the hearts of millions of viewers, captivating elders, women and children alike and knocked out several heavy weights by presenting the historic broadcast of “Pehchan Ramazan.”

“I had introduced religious programme in the morning show following in the footsteps of Aamir Liaqat and not only myself but almost all the channels are trying to copy the trend set by Aamir,” she said.

Talking to the world renowned broadcaster Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain in the live special programme “Pehchan Ramazan” she paid tributes to him on setting up the “Shehr-e-Ramazan.” While on her way to attend the programme she had seen hundreds of people outside who were keen to take part in the soul-stirring programme. It was a vivid proof of the love and admiration they have for Dr Aamir. Praising Dr Aamir she said that Geo earned inimitable popularity setting up new records, and all this was because of his untiring efforts and multidimensional personality. She said that being part of Geo fraternity, it was an honour for her also.

Talking to the host she said with the passage of time it was difficult to keep herself fit but key to her beauty was balanced diet and exercise. She said without cooperation of the family it was difficult to keep a balance between professional and family life.

The participants of the programme asked searching questions about her daily life and her engagements with Geo TV to which she gave interesting answers. She herself evinced keen interest in almost all the programmes of Geo. During the conversation the popular broadcaster eulogized the multi-faceted qualities of Dr Shaista and said that being flexible she adapts herself to all situations, humorous as well as serious and this is the key to her success. On the occasion she thanked Dr Liaquat for his appeal for her speedy recovery during her illness.

In the programme “Rahe Neki” the process of assistance by the philanthropists to the needy continues. In this connection appeal for assistance was made for a mother of 4 children who is victim of husband’s barbarism, Iram Naz and a 6 year old boy Sumair who is suffering from multiple diseases. A participant donated Rs70,000 for his operation. Another participant contributed Rs10,000 for Irum Naz.

Dr Aamir Liaquat distributed cash envelopes on behalf of Mahmooda Sultana Foundation among the needy.

On the 29th day of Ramazan, the head of Sailani Welfare Trust, Soofi Basheer Farooqi attended the programme on special invitation and on the request of the host led special prayers before Iftar. Dr Aamir thanked him for providing ration amongst the needy persons.

To welcome Eid and regarding ‘Chand Raat’ a mehndi corner has been added to the Shehr-e-Ramazan. A large number of happy women got henna on their hands. Noted reciter Imran Sheikh Attari made everyone emotional and brought tears to their eyes with his recitation of ‘Alvida, alvida Shehr-e-Ramazan’. Ahmad Raza Qadri recited a ‘naat’ in the company of children in praise of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). In the inspiring moments of Sehr Qari Waheed Zafar Qasmi mesmerized the audience with his recitation.

In addition to that Allama Amin Shaheedi, Allama Naseem Siddiqui, Qari Khalilur Rehman Javed and Maulana Shafiur Rehman replied to a number of questions from the audience and viewers in the programme ‘Alim Aur Alim’.
