Mora Piya – Episode 17 (Review)
Review by Drama Buff
First of all, many apologies for the belated review. My YouTube still has something against Mora Piya it seems!
Secondly, and more importantly, wow! What an episode it was! Honestly speaking, even though this has been a one-track story, it is so hard to get bored or forward through the scenes. If there was ever a strong message that relationships are complicated, this is one. Kudos to the writer for highlighting so clearly that human relationships, especially the ones that are fostered by bonds of marriage, are extremely complex. Also, in stark contrast to other drama serials that pinpoint relationship problems to a single factor (inlaws, mainly), Mora Piya has just demonstrated that problems stem from attitude. Yes, external factors also play a role, but the internal ones, in terms of how one reacts to them, are just as crucial.
Thus, with problems still apparent in their attitude, Ujala and Faisal were unable to reach a satisfactory point in their relationship even with Azaan packed away to boarding school and the house to themselves. I was kind of looking forward to the way they mend their relationship, with everyone out of the way, but alas! Faisal is still guilt-ridden and Ujala is still angry about it. They also tried counselling – and oh boy, how intense and emotional was the scene where they are sitting and reliving their nightmare. Adeel and Aamina, I have said this many times before, but you are so ROCKING in this serial.
The precap for the next episode shows Faisal packing up in order to leave. This seems to be another phase in trying to reconcile with the reality, but will it help? Looking forward to next week…
