Umera Ahmad is the name that is proverbial today not even in Pakistan, but around the globe. The graph of her popularity is rising every day, mainly after she has started writing for dramas. Her fame can be judged from the fact that a few of her famous novels have also been translated in to English language. Days have gone when we were told by parents not to read digest and novels as they leave immoral effects, almost every other drama these days is based on novels once published in those digests or written by the same authors. After the excellent popularity of “Dur-e-Shehwar”, “Shehar-e-Zat has been telecasted today on HUM TV. Shehar-e-Zat is one of the widely acclaimed novels of Umera, the plot environs around a day dreamer, care free, arrogant but extremely beautiful girl named “Falak Sherafghan” (Maihra Khan), only child to her parents, a student of fine arts who is desired by many. Story takes the twist when she gets involved in to man of her dreams ( Mekal Zulfiqar) who brings her back from utopia to the realities of the real world. This is irony of this society that girl who is desired by many get ditched by man who she desires. The story chiefly elucidates the tie between the man and the God, how man forgets his true aim for what he was sent to earth, runs after his wishes and endeavors to please the people rather than Creator. Story so far has been shown quite a bit different from what is stated in the novel but episode 1 still proved to be very captivating. Two more characters have also been added in the script, Falak’s friend Hamza( Mohib Mirza) and Nani (Samina Peerzada). Motivational characters have become essential part of Umera’s stories in recent past, characters such as Nani in Sherzat, Aba in Dur-e-shehwar and Kher din in Aks( Novel) truly make people jealous, as in today’s world we seriously lake such idols that can help us to shape our life. The drama doesn’t need any prediction of success as the formula is already combination of people known for perfection. The production of 7th sky and Momina duraid, the direction of Sarmad Sultan khoosat, such talented cast and most importantly the brain behind the plot, Umera Ahmad.
